Epirotic Bottling Industry: A landmark investment reshaping the water bottling sector in Greece

Epirotic Bottling Industry S.A., the largest Greek company in the production and bottling of natural mineral water, refreshements, preforms, and caps, has made a strategic investment of €8.63 million with the installation of a new state-of-the-art hyper speed production line at the VIKOS natural mineral water bottling plant in Ioannina.
The new line is fully automated, integrating all stages of the production process, from bottling to palletizing, while its built-in artificial intelligence (AI) system ensures real-time automated control and optimization of operations.
Dedicated to the bottling of VIKOS natural mineral water in the 1.5L packaging, the line achieves a production capacity of 60,000 bottles per hour, equivalent to 100 pallets per hour or 167 six-packs per minute, making it the largest in Greece.
As a result, the total production capacity of the VIKOS Plant has increased by 30.32%, reaching 257,900 bottles per hour. The operation of this new line proved crucial, enabling uninterrupted market supply during the high-demand summer months.
This investment has been implemented with the loan support of the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility – NextGenerationEU and forms part of the Group’s overall investment plan. It significantly strengthens production capacity, ensures the ability to meet growing market demand, contributes to the reduction of the environmental footprint, and reaffirms the company’s commitment to the sustainable development of Epirus.
